Hi, I’m Laura!
But you can call me
Lolli
All my life I’ve been conflicted about what my name was. Do I introduce myself as Lolli, my nickname, or Laura? I now simply embrace both as different sides of myself and sign my paintings with an “L” which simply means: Love, me. So here’s a little bit about me:
I was born, raised and still live in Washington State and it is beautiful here. There are mountains, rivers, trees, four seasons (although winter is longest) and an abundance of animals. These are what make me feel inspired the most and that is what you will see reflected in many of my paintings. Lots of blues, greens and grays because those are the most familiar colors to my eyes. The ocean, while a several hour drive away, is always in my thoughts and close to my heart. The sound of those waves and the sky that stretches further than the ocean fills my inspirational cup whenever I can escape there. I love creation and thank my God for all the beauty he has given us to enjoy and, moment to moment, I hope to paint as many as I can.

Why
Do I Paint?
I paint to show my appreciation for the beauty of each day. I live in an area of Washington where, to me, it is impossible to not find beauty. The mountains, the rivers, the fog, the valleys and the animals that graze there. I am in constant awe that our earth has so many beautiful places and people on it and that I am blessed enough to notice them. Simply put, I am inspired by life. Moments in each day between nature and people and emotions that run through them all. I strive to paint a moment, a moment of beauty or love. And with each brushstroke I strive to capture the feeling behind it, because there is a feeling and a story behind every moment.
Getting a little more
Personal
I have lived in a small town called Fall City for the last 20 years. When given the choice I would choose country over city and home over going out every time. While painting is my passion my husband holds the biggest piece of my heart. I was 19 when we married and we’ve now been happily married for 20 years. While our life doesn’t look exactly like we thought it would, being by his side is my favorite place to be. As I paint in my small studio in my small town I dream about one day. My “one day’s” will often come through in my paintings as I paint a calm moment in a local landscape or the town of a far away country. I hope one day my art reaches around the world and creates connections and conversations about dreams and memories.
