Description

Last year, late summer, we made some changes.  We let go of something that had been weighing on us, something that had become very heavy over time and had chipped away at us.  When that weight was gone, we took off.  We left for a few days to breath and to find our stride again.  We found ourselves in a place, though just a few hours away, felt just the right amount of different.  A place where the colors were warmer, the air drier and the dirt redder.  I smelled dust and horses.  Saw a rodeo, hat shops and real leather belts.  I saw the mountaintops touching a huge blue sky that melted to a sizzling orange at night.  This sweet little town was like a balm on a wound and those few days soothed away the ache that weight had caused.

While we were there we connected with some friends back home who told us why this place was special to them.  They saw their future begin in this place when they got engaged and they still come back when they need to see clearly again.  It helped clear my eyes so I could see further again, I could see it now.
